Julie Thornberg-Thorsøe
I am a designer and craftsperson with a lifelong dedication to my work, having begun sewing at the age of seven. My practice is deeply rooted in aesthetic sustainability and inspired by the concept of time — the time invested in the craft, the lifespan of garments, and the value we add when extending their life through mending or repurposing. I believe that appreciating and being aware of time profoundly shapes the way we live and the choices we make. This philosophy is reflected in my commitment to authenticity and quality — principles that define not only the designer and craftsperson I am, but also the way I live my life. My creative process often explores the intersection between craft, life, and emotional connection, drawing on socially relevant themes to provoke thought and evoke meaningful responses. Through both conceptual artistic projects and meticulously crafted pieces, I aim to inspire reflection, encourage sustainability, and create work that resonates on both a personal and cultural level.
